Lisk (LSK)
Lisk is a decentralized computing platform based on blockchain. It was founded in early May 2016 by Max Kordek and Oliver Beddows as a fork of Crypti, a JavaScript-based platform for developing decentralized applications (dApps).
Lisk's main vision is to expand and facilitate the availability of blockchain technology, both in the development and use phase. LSK is the name of the project utility token used to pay transaction fees on the Lisk platform blockchain.
Lisk users can create, publish, distribute, and monetize their dApps as well as leverage the ecosystem's native cryptocurrency, LSK. In other words, Lisk is a self-contained and integrated platform, supporting features such as smart contracts, blockchain-based storage, etc.
The Lisk blockchain is quite fast, new blocks are created roughly every 10 seconds, while each cycle of 101 blocks takes around 16 minutes to settle - by comparison, creating new Bitcoin blocks takes around 10 minutes.
