Basic Attention Token (BAT)
Basic Attention Token - (BAT) is an Ethereum-based token and is an exchange unit in a new blockchain-based digital advertising platform that is directly linked to the Brave browser.
The mission of the BAT team is to fix a broken state of the current digital ad space, where users are unknowingly followed, publishers struggle to monetize content, and advertisers are the constant victims of scams.
Digital advertising revenue was quickly monopolized by two large corporations: Facebook and Google. These two companies alone receive 73% of all dollars from online advertising. The team behind Basic Attention Token wants to change that.
BAT excludes intermediaries from the advertising process. Users are paid for attention while viewing ads, and publishers receive most of the ad revenue directly. In addition, advertisers get a better return on investment and more accurate data for analysis using BAT.
