TRON is a decentralized protocol based on blockchain technology, which aims to construct a worldwide free entertainment system with distributed storage. The protocol will not be censored or influenced by publishers. Tron offers users the ability to publish, store and own content. The platform enables developers to create decentralized applications (DApp) through the use of smart contracts. The network itself is also to enable the creation of decentralized applications, e.g. online games or social media. The Tron network supports 2,000 transactions per second (target 10,000 per second).
TRON's open, decentralized platform and distributed storage technology allow digital content creators to eliminate middlemen such as the Apple Store and Google Play Store. This enables content producers to raise funds directly from consumers.
Today, a lot of user data and traffic is controlled by several corporations such as Google, Facebook and Amazon. TRON tries to soften this control by putting ownership of the data back into the hands of the creator.
